When asked which topics, activities, or strategies were the most valuable, June participants said:

"This was one of the best trainings I've attended. I think it's essential and should be required for all elementary teachers. I feel that our district should be putting more time, money, and attention on this information. I liked having the training during the summer and before the new school year starts because it can give participants time to process the information and create a plan. I also think that this PD would be very helpful for teacher preparation programs and alternative licensure."

"The activities I liked the most were the Connect to Theory activities and the lessons. It was nice to do the activities and analyze the information from a teacher's perspective. I also enjoyed talking to my peers and discussing how activities would be used and extensions for activities. Really, the entire PD was so valuable." 

"Everything was very valuable! Being able to practice the activities was helpful. It brought great insight to what our students may feel and questions that may come up."

"The Phonological awareness!! It was a real eye-opener. Also, the explicit instruction! The examples of explicit instruction and intentional teaching. Really, all the information was so valuable to me and I wish I could've taken this training earlier!"

"Loved meeting other people in the district that I can now email and continue to connect with (come from a very small school - with limited resources at the K-3 level)."
